Feeling the Christmas cheer!

We were delighted to receive our first donation of 2018, when we took delivery of a cheque for £105.00 from our friends at Kinghorn Primary School.

Purple Caffe were nominated to receive the proceeds from the school’s Christmas Church Service by Kai Hunter.

Kai told Purple Caffe Fife:

Kinghorn Primary School picked Purple Caffe as their charity for the year at Pupil Government. They asked the classes to pick charities so I mentioned Purple Caffe as I am part of it. They had a vote and they voted for Purple Caffe. So at our church service we collected for it and we raised £105.

Kai, who is a Primary 7 pupil at Kinghorn, was one of the first recipients of our Sleep-EASy anti-suffocation pillows, and he and his family have become a big part of Purple Caffe Fife.

We spoke to Mrs Gilfillan, who teaches P7 at Kinghorn Primary.  She said:

Kai is one of our P7 pupils at Kinghorn Primary. As soon as the idea was raised of charities being nominated he talked about Purple Caffe. He has talked often of the pillow that he received and how it helps to reduce worry at home. Kai not only nominated Purple Caffe for our church collection, but is currently working with a group of other P7 pupils to organise and run a fundraiser as part of their JASS (Junior Award Scheme for Schools) project to raise even more money for Purple Caffe. It’s lovely to see him recognise how they have helped him and want to try and do something in return.

We would like to extend our thanks to Mrs Wyse, Headteacher at Kinghorn Primary, as well as Mrs Gilfillan and all the staff and pupils, and we wish them all the best for 2018.
